Price Based on Country for WooCommerce 2.0 is here

by Oscar on 24 April, 2020

After a lot of hard work behind the scenes, we’re excited to announce that Price Based on Country for WooCommerce 2.0 is here! The primary focus of this update is to improve the plugin performance so that the store owners and their customers have a better user experience.

Performance Improvements

We made a series of performance improvements in the front and back end to speed up performance.

Price updates in the background

Price Based on Country executes tasks periodically to synchronize the prices between the different pricing zones. This task has been optimized and runs now in the background.

New pure CSS loading spinner

We have introduced a new spinner for the rice load via the AJAX feature. The new spinner only uses CSS, so it’s cooler and lighter than the previous spinner based on an icon font.

WooCommerce Admin Support

WooCommerce 4.0 included the WooCommerce Admin, a modern, Javascript-based dashboard that provides better reporting capabilities than previous generations of reports.

Version 2.0 includes full support for the WooCommerce Admin reports. If you use the multicurrency capabilities of Price Based on Country, the dashboard will display the information in the shop base currency.

Additional Updates

In addition to the WooCommerce Admin support, and the performance improvements,  version 2.0 includes supports for the WooCommerce Product Blocks and bug fixes.

Upgrading to 2.0

2.0 is a “major” release. This means that the version is not fully backwards compatible with sites running versions of 1.8.x. Therefore, we recommend testing the upgrade on a staging site copy before upgrading your live store and creating a backup of your code and database.
